The Time Of Their Lives feels like a children’s film dressed up in a pensioners night gown.
The Time Of Their Lives is the kind of insulting film that isn’t sure if its target audience will actually enjoy it, so it just belittles them. With a plot at the standard of a cheap porno and an abhorrent script, it does not sit right. It isn’t funny or intelligent, and it’s genuinely a waste of time.
There is no way of telling if Pauline Collins was still learning her lines or acting well. Stop-start acting with absolutely no flow to what she is doing. Joan Collins’ character on the other hand changes mind set so often it makes her seem cheap and irritating. She’s supposed to be self assured not intangibly irritable.
The Time Of Their Lives feels like a children’s film dressed up in a pensioner’s night gown. It’s weak and insulting, and I expect some of the more elderly viewers will take note of exactly how not to have the time of their lives.
